Epilogue
Until they regained their sovereignty, Koreans were relentless in carrying out a variety of endeavors for independence both in Korea and abroad. The blood and sweat of people in the independence movement gave Koreans hope in the face of colonial rule under Imperial Japan and brought them through it successfully to liberation. The independence movement was Korea’s struggle for national independence, but it was more than that: it also represented freedom and justice, the universal values of humanity, and the will and desire of Koreans for true peace.
